How to Export Passwords From Chrome & Import Passwords to Chrome

How to Export Passwords

  1. Click the Chrome menu (3 dots) in the toolbar at the top right and choose Settings.
  2. Click Passwords.
  3. Click the 3 dots on the right above the list of saved passwords.
  4. Click “Export passwords”, and enter the password you use to log in to your computer if asked.
  5. Save the file to your DOCUMENTS. It is important that it goes in the documents folder.

How to Import Passwords

  1. Open up the Chrome browser and type in chrome://flags/#password-import-export into the address bar. Upon pressing the "Enter" key, you’ll be brought to Chrome’s flags page.
  2. Press Ctrl + F on your keyboard to open the finder bar. Type in "password import", it'll take you straight to the subheading you are looking for and highlight it.
  3. Choose the "Enable" option from the drop down Menu on the right.
  4. Once you’ve done so, Chrome will prompt you to relaunch the browser.
  5. Click on "Relaunch Now" to restart the browser.
  6. Click the Chrome menu (3 dots) in the toolbar at the top right and choose Settings.
  7. Click Passwords.
  8. Click the 3 dots on the right above the list of saved passwords and select “Import passwords”.
  9. Select and double click the CSV file from your documents and Chrome will do the rest. You will see them in the list now.
